Did you enjoy the learning process through the Purple Plow Challenge?
Yes, the Purple Plow Challenge encouraged us to research solutions to one of the predetermined challenges. Through it, we gained practical research experience and explored how to solve pollinator habitat loss.
We also particularly enjoyed researching a subject we would not have otherwise explored—especially such an important and relevant topic.
What new knowledge did you gain from participating in the challenge?
Through the challenge, we learned about the importance of pollinators in our food systems and how pollinator habitats are all unique and varying.
We also developed a deeper understanding of how various species of pollinators exhibit a preference for specific plant structures and the reasons for these attractions.
What advice would you give to students who participate in Purple Plow?
Don’t be limited in how you can make a change. The most direct way isn’t always the way to be taken.
